…ok no speech here but Ben Affleck did star in Pearl Harbor...just a fun question to start the night with. Speaking of, it was an amazing night of Trivia at Hayters Bar & Lounge. Drink specials, hot food, and some awesome questions for the night.
We had Couple of Hayters, Brett’s Baby Mama, Modelo Citizens, and TexCub joining us again! They would face off with some new teams, Brownie Points, LLR, Tag, TGL, WTSB, and Team Hayters. Would one of our regulars pull off a victory? Could a new team take down the regulars? We would see!
2 rounds in and we had a new team come out swinging for the fences. Brownie Points took a 3-point lead over Team Hayters and a Couple of Hayters. TexCub was in the mix along with LLR and Modelo Citizens who were at 8 points, only 4 points shy of first. Tag and TGL were fighting hard to stay within reach of a 2nd or 3rd place finish, but it was going to be a struggle to get 1st place being down 6 after 2 rounds.
Could Brownie Points hang in there and pull off an upset? Would TexCub make a comeback and find a way to upset the newcomers? After a stellar first 2 rounds, Brownie Points got a little baked, must have been some special brownies, and saw their score drop and their lead diminish. TexCub had 3 good rounds and saw themselves back in the lead with a 2-point advantage over Brownie Points. Team Hayters struggled in round 4 but made up for it in rounds 3 and 5 and they were in 3rd place. However, 3rd place was going to be a fight as we had Modelo Citizens, LLR, and Tag all within 1 point of each other. Realistically even Brownie Points were not safe at 2nd as they only had a 1-point lead over Team Hayters. This was still any teams game!
Going into the final round, TexCub needed to tie or not give up more than 3 points to take the win. They delivered and did not repeat last week, giving up points. They took 6 points in the final round and had 4 bonus points to make it a clear 5-point victory over Modelo Citizens. Speaking of Modelo Citizens, with an amazing 6 out of 6 bonus points, even stumbling in round 4 with a single point, they found themselves in 2nd place, taking a 1-point victory over 3rd place finishers, LLR. Brownie Points saw their great start dwindle and missed 3rd place by 1 point. 5th place to 2nd place, we saw a very small margin of victory, usually just 1 point between the places. It is always a great competition out here at Hayters Bar and Lounge!
