This week it was VERY chilly at False Idol Brewing so it seems like a lot of people who came out last week, when it was juuuuuust right, stayed home. Nevertheless, we still had 6 teams and around 28 players, so we still had a great time! This week brought the return of The Flame and the Void and Bronze Medalers, along with newcomers New Boot Goofin' and Michael J. Fox's Soup is Too Spilly. There were only ties late in the game during rounds three, four and five, so we had to do our patented (not really) Rock, Paper, Scissors Showdown to determine the winners. Each team that won 1st place received a set of FREE beer tasters for their round though, so even if you're not-so-great at trivia you should bring out your friends who ARE!
Game 1
Surprisingly the two new teams that came up ended up dominating most rounds of the game! Michael J. Fox's Soup is Too Spilly came in strong for their first outing but ended up being beat by the other new team, New Boot Goofin'. Would you ever guess that New Boot Goofin' was only a two person team? To beat The Flame and the Void and the Bronze Medalers that is quite a feat! Even though they won Round 6 they graciously gave their tasters to the second place team, The Flame and the Void. For their win New Boot Goofin' got to take home a $50 gift card to The Wolf Den! They were good, but they were still stumped, like everyone else, by one question:
I most certainly am not a poetry buff so this one got me good. There were a lot of guesses, like happiness, death, a pillow, or even a bird (which would have been too obvious). The correct answer was:
The beer is always flowing at False Idol so make sure you come out for some great beers! They now also have a partnership with a delicious food truck as well, so now you can get some food to go along with your fresh beer! This week I tried their double dry hopped IPA Dino Dommy along with their fantastic West Coast IPA 2 Live & Die In LA. They always have something new each week, so I can almost guarantee you'll get to try something new each time! And don't forget you get free tasters for your team if you win 1st place for a round!
