…and the teachers came out to play.
It was a nice, warm spring evening in North Texas as we gathered at Hayters Bar and Lounge in Arlington for some awesome PubGuys Trivia.
We had some regulars come out and join us. We saw Total Recall, Dimestore Drinkers and Gym Bros and Hoes. We had some new teams join us and yes some were teachers enjoying the beginning of their well-deserved summer break. We had Trash Babies, Slick Nips, Nowitzness join us. For fun we had the bar staff chime in when they could as a Couple of Hayters. The funny team’s name for the night was Brett’s Baby Mama and Slick Nips.
We had 4 teams come out fast and furious in round 1 with scores of 5 or 6. However in round 2 we saw that the game was getting harder. Gym Bros and Hoes and Trash Babies took a wrong turn in round 2 and saw their score fall. Total Recall apparently recalled a lot of worthless knowledge and gained momentum in rounds 2 and 3 and never had to look in the mirror again. Especially after getting an amazing 10 points in round 6.
While first place was solidified going into round 4, we still had Dimestore Drinkers, Trash Babies, Slick Nips and Gym Bros and Hoes fighting for 2nd and 3rd place. For those teams, it was round 4 that made a difference. With only 2 points for the round, we saw Gym Bros and Hoes and Trash Babies stumble, leaving the door open for Slick Nips. Going into the final round it was still a dog fight (pilot style not Michael Vick Style).
Round 6 was a lot crazy as Dimestore Drinkers did their best to fall out of 2nd place with a meager 2 points. Gym Bros and Hoes and Trash Babies took a stumble as well which left the door open for Slick Nips which ended the game with a 3-way tie for 3rd place. This was a first for Hayters Bar and Lounge and it was exciting. Our bonus question was: “How many rooms are in the White House?” I have used this as a first at many venues so why not do the same here. Gym Bros and Hoes fell short guessing 27. Trash Babies were close, guessing 107. However, Slick Nips pulled a slick move and nailed it at 132 rooms! An exact answer and a great finish to an amazing game.
Thanks to Michael and Allison for taking care of the trivia heads! Busting their asses to make sure everyone had cold beverages and hot food. Thanks to the Hayters kitchen crew for making and running food. It was a great evening!
