…which is what you expect during spring showers in Texas. However, the green skies, heavy rain and tornado warnings did not keep the Cowtown Brewery trivia heads from coming out.
Game 1:
We welcomed Paco Tacos, Tower Twins, and Here for the ‘Nado, to our trivia family. They would compete against our regulars: Jersey!, Mouseaholics, Tequila is better cold, Hot Tequila, No Folk and Chance and LMGTSFY.
This was a close game all 3 rounds and the ending will not surprise you. Going into the final round we had Pacos Tacos and Hot Tequila tied at 12. Not to be left in their dust, we had Tower Twins and Mouseaholics sitting at 11. On their heels we had Tequila is better cold, No Folk and Chance and Jersey sitting at 10 points. This was anyone’s game going into the final round. With 6 points each in the final round and enough bonus points, we had another tie! Yes, that is how it rolls at Cowtown Brewery! Tequila is Better Cold and newcomers Pacos Tacos ended in a tie at 21! The Mouseaholics ended just shy at 19 and No Folk and Chance and Jersey! ended at 18. It was a close game.
The tie breaker question was: “In the year 2017 how many baby girls were registered in the United Kingdom with the first name Pepper?” With a guess of 1069 and 2000, we had our winner. Your answer was 4! Talk about going over…way over. Congrats to Tequila is Better cold! on the win and congrats to newcomers Pacos Tacos on taking 2nd!
Game 2:
From the art of Robert Indiana to Arthurian legends, this game had some amazing questions.
With a great round one we saw Pacos Tacos jump out to a 3-point lead with an amazing 8-point round. However, would it hold? Round 2 was a killer though! Paco Tacos took a fall, only getting 2 points in round 2 while Mouseaholics, Tower Twins, Hot Tequila and Tequila is better cold hopped over them all getting 5 or more points in round 2. This would come down to round 3, yet again. We had Tower Twins and Hot Tequila at 10 points, Tequila is better cold at 9 points and Mouseaholics sitting at 12 points. However, with an amazing 10 points in round 3, we saw Tower Twins jump over the Mouseaholics to take the win, 22 to 21. What a great ending to a stormy night.
A huge shoutout to the Cowtown Brewing Co. Staff for taking care of all the trivia heads. Thanks to Gavin, Heather, Rob, Patrick, and Christiana! You make my job a lot easier!
