Tuesday night at Cowtown Brewing Co. delivered exactly what DFW has come to expect from PubGuys Trivia—a packed house, fierce competition, and an electric crowd fueled by cold beer and the incredible smells of Outpost 36 BBQ drifting through the brewery. As The Angry Irishman, I had the privilege of hosting one wild, high-energy game that kept every team on their toes from the opening question to the final buzzer. One game. Six rounds. Bonus questions lurking throughout. And a leaderboard that flipped more than once before settling into one of the tightest finishes we’ve seen this season.

Rounds 1 & 2 – Establishing the Battlefield

The game opened with several teams firing early shots. Data Snakes, Jerk Store, Hot Tequila, and Milk Steak all surged out of the gate with 4–5 points, sharing the early spotlight while The Great Odini hung close behind. Even the back-of-the-pack teams—Spooning Leads to Forking, No Folk and Chance, and I Quizzed My Pants—showed they weren’t here to play casual trivia; they were here to compete.

But Round 2 is where the first real shakeup hit.

Data Snakes and Jerk Store pulled away, dropping impressive 9- and 6-point rounds. Meanwhile, The Great Odini and Milk Steak clawed forward, tying and overtaking several teams. Hot Tequila, despite a solid start, slipped slightly as the field tightened. By the end of Round 2, a clear chase pack had formed—but the night was far from settled.

Rounds 3 & 4 – Momentum Shifts and Mounting Pressure

Round 3 belonged to Data Snakes, who dropped a commanding 10-point round and widened their lead in a big way. Jerk Store, unable to match the pace, stumbled with 3 points, giving chasing teams a chance to breathe. The Great Odini posted a strong 5, keeping themselves within striking distance.

Round 4 sparked another wave of movement. Hot Tequila and The Great Odini each posted 5–6 points, keeping them alive. Meanwhile, No Folk and Chance and I Quizzed My Pants, though behind, continued to grind for every point, refusing to quit. The crowd could feel the pressure rising—tables leaning in, pens clicking, confidence wavering.

Cowtown was buzzing, both inside the taproom and around the scoring table.

Rounds 5 & 6 – The Final Push

Round 5 gave several teams their last big chance to make moves. Jerk Store and Hot Tequila showed life with 6-point rounds. The Great Odini added 4. But Data Snakes, even with just 7 points, kept the lead secure.

And then Round 6 hit—where winners are crowned or dreams collapse.

Jerk Store threw down an 8-point surge, the biggest of the round, making a final desperate push for the top. The Great Odini, knowing bonus points could matter, stayed steady. But Data Snakes, despite a modest finish, had already built enough of a cushion to lock down first place without even needing the tie-breaker mechanic we use when top teams tie within 10 seconds.

The brewery erupted as the final scores posted—competitive, rowdy, and ridiculously fun. Exactly what PubGuys Trivia is all about.

FINAL TOP 3 TEAMS

  1. Data Snakes – 42 points

  2. Jerk Store – 33 points

  3. The Great Odini – 30 points

Cold beer. Outpost 36 BBQ. A full house. And trivia chaos at its finest. Thanks to everyone who came out—Cowtown Tuesdays remain undefeated.
