Tuesday night at Cowtown Brewing Co. was an absolute blast as we rolled out a fresh format of PubGuys Trivia—and the crowd brought the energy! The taproom was wall-to-wall with trivia lovers, delicious craft brews were flowing, and the new structure delivered non-stop excitement from start to finish.
We’re now running a single, action-packed game with 6 rounds and 2 bonus questions per round, and it’s already proving to be a hit. Not only does the new setup keep the pace lively, but it also raises the stakes—bigger prizes for the top two teams means teams are battling harder than ever for trivia glory.
And wow, did they battle.
The leaderboard saw tight competition all night long. After six intense rounds, Gavels Gone Wild emerged victorious with a commanding 44 points. Their consistency and bonus-point savvy gave them the edge needed to snag the top spot and walk away with the top cash prize. Close behind were the sharp-witted contenders Hot Tequila, who racked up 42 points, showing impressive knowledge across all categories and grabbing second place honors.
There was a tie for third between Clever Cousins plus Tanoki and No Folk And Chance, both finishing strong with 34 points. While they didn’t grab prize money this time, they were crowd favorites with clever team names and big energy throughout the game.
Other teams like Smartinis, Ale You Need is Love, and J Squad all had their moments to shine. From confident answers to hilarious team banter, they added heart and humor to the night—and proved that trivia night isn’t just about winning, it’s about having fun and enjoying the ride.
