…sometimes you fall off the mountain peak. What a fun Valentine’s Day evening at CBC Southlake Taproom. Thank you for coming out and enjoying an amazing game of PubGuys Trivia.
We had our regulars with Dimestore Drinkers, The Ya’ll Ternatives, Friends of Snap, and Spooning Leads to Forking. We welcomed in Cook, Flux Capacitors and That’s What she said.
We had an amazing first 2 rounds with Friends of Snap coming out swinging and getting 12 points. Dimestore Drinkers and That’s what she said were close behind at 7 and 8 points. However, rounds 3 and 4 were game changers. Friends of Snap fell short in those 2 rounds only getting a total of 4 points. Dimestore Drinkers and That’s what she said took advantage with both teams getting 11 points in the middle rounds. Back and forth it went and it came down to the final round and the final 2 questions. What was Red Foxx’s real last name? What is the name of the attorney played by Kevin Costner in JFK? Congrats to Dimestore Drinkers and That’s what she said on getting those 2, tough questions. With 7 and 8 points in the final round we had ourselves a TIE for first!!! Friends of snap were so close finishing 2 points out of the tie.
In Angry Irishman fashion, 1 participant from each team had to answer closest to the following question: “How many named mountain peaks are in Norway”? We had one team go low saying 124 and one team go high saying 1200. There are 247 named peaks in Norway in case you did not know. Congrats to DIMESTORE DRINKERS for taking first place in an amazing game of Trivia. I cannot wait to see what happens next week.
A huge shoutout to the CBC Southlake Taproom staff, Aaron, and Finley, for taking care of all the trivia heads. You make my job a lot easier!
I look forward to seeing you all next Monday, 6:30pm – 8:30pm for another game of PubGuys Trivia!
Until then…
Slàinte Mhaith,
The Angry Irishman
