Another very competitive game! I (Dan) subbed for Brett again. We had a pretty good crowd for being the last day of a long holiday weekend. The place was rocking, the beer was flowing, the music was pumping, and everyone seemed to have a good evening.

Inappropriately Confident, a team based in Arlington and one that I have played with in the past, invaded the northern territory and brought their show on the road. We also had a couple new teams who were there just for fun - M&M and Not Good at Trivia. The main players were Inappropriately Confident, Okapi (who has been cleaning house at CTSL) and Nerd Herd.

The night started off well. Every team was clustered for the first few rounds. I was giving bonus points if teams could state the year of the songs I was playing ofr each round. After two rounds, though, I thought my 1970's choice of music might be unfair for the younger teams so I stopped. But we still had bonus questions for each round - all built on a question in the round.

Did I mention that the Octoberfest beer is my favorite? Between the beer and the music, I sometimes forget I am a trivia host and just enjoy the evening.

The three serious teams were within two points of each other heading into round 6. The separation question, worth three points, had to do with a Jim Croce song. Okapi got it right and ended up winning by three points. Congratulations.

I look forward to seeing everyone again when Brett needs a break. Until then, stay cool, keep praying for rain and cooler weather ahead.
