We had our several of our regulars, Okapi, Friends of Snap and Semen Possible come out tonight. They were joined by Crazy 5, Rodlitz and Alpha Q to round our teams for a great night of Trivia at CBC Southlake Tap Room.
2 Rounds in we see why this is a great venue for PubGuys Trivia. We had Friends of Snap, Okapi and Semen Possible in a 3-way tie for first. Alpha Q and Rodlitz were right behind, just a few points out of 1st or second place. Would the momentum for the top 3 continue? We would see, come round 3.
Sometime round 3 is a game changer, and it held true this game. As Friends of Snap and Okapi took a slow lap this round, Alpha Q and Semen Possible took the inside lane to get us into a 4-way tie for first! I have had a 3-way tie before but not 4 teams, halfway through a game, all knotted up and tied. This would be a great second half of the game!
Round 4 was just as grand as Semen Possible and Alpha Q take a 1-point lead over Friends of Snap and a 2-point lead over Okapi. Could Alpha Q maintain their lead? Could Semen Possible keep Okapi in their rear-view mirror? Would Friends of snap make a comeback?
With an amazing 9 points in round 5, Okapi proves that they can be the fastest car on the track. Maybe they had better pit stops and managed their gas better. It is hard to tell but they took a 1-point lead over Semen Possible and a 2-point lead over Alpha Q. Friends of Snap had a rough time in round 5 only getting 1 point. My favorite question this round was “Babe Ruth placed which vegetable under his cap to stay cool during games?” We have sports fans in the house but that was a tough question!
Going into our final round we had our 2 leaders trying to find a way to get that extra point. Friends of snap were looking for a way to makeup for their slip in round 5 and Alpha Q were hanging onto 3rd by a thread and were looking for a little push to get them past Semen Possible. With 5 points each, we saw Okapi maintain their 1-point lead over Semen Possible for a W and a Victory Lap! Friends of Snap also took 5 points in round 6 and almost edged out Alpha Q for 3rd but fell just short.
What a great finish to a great night of Trivia at CBC Southlake Tap Room! Thank you all for coming out and enjoying cold beer, hot food and amazing PubGuys Trivia!
