Game 1:
Another night of Christmas themed Trivia was on the agenda tonight. I came out in full Grinch mode tonight, costume included, and we started off game 1!
With Okapi in the house, you know you are in for a competitive night. However, the other 13 teams were up to the challenge. With 2 rounds in, we had 4 teams tied for 1st at 10 points, 4 teams tied for 2nd at 9 points and 5 teams sitting at 8 points. This was a great start to the night as everyone came to play! How would this game end?
With the final round to go, it felt like 3 was the magic number for most teams as we had 9 teams take 3 points in round 3. Unfortunately, 3 was not the number needed to take the win. Taking 4 points in round 3, Sloshy Drinkertons were thinking they could sneak into the top 2, but alas, they found themselves sitting at 14 points, tied with 3 other teams for 3rd. Pulling off a Christmas Miracle, The Cheer Moms and + 2 cool dudes took 5 points in round 3 and with their 2 bonus points, found themselves in a good spot at 15 points. Would it be enough to take 1st place and pull an upset? Alas, no. With 5 points as well, Okapi pulled out the win by a single point! This was such a close game as only 5 points separated 11th place and 1st place.

Game 2:
After a quick mental reboot and a refill of our favorite beverage, we were ready for game 2! More Christmas Movie and TV questions were coming your way! Ok, there was a sprinkling of music questions in the mix too.
Okapi came out strong in game 2 as they were sitting in 1st place at 13 points after 2 rounds. They were closely followed by Teachers pay teachers, Brew Crew, The Cheer moms + 2 cool dudes, and It’s a Kentucky Harvester. 8 to 13 was the point range for our top 4 teams and we had 1 round to go. Would Okapi hang on to have a repeat win or would someone else take the W?
You do not see it often, but with a perfect round 3 with 10 points, Brew Crew did their best to ensure there was not a repeat winner in game 2. Cotton headed ninny muggins made a move in round 3 with 7 points but found themselves moving up to late as they ended in 5th place, just 4 points out of 1st. Okapi had a great game but at 16 points in the end, they were sitting in 4th place. Teachers pay teachers and IT’s a Kentucky Harvester both took 5 points in round 3 but with their 2 bonus points, we saw It’s a Kentucky Harvester finish at 18 points. However, they were just 1-point shy tying for 1st place, as Brew Crew took the W at 19 points!
This was another close game as only 5 points was the difference between 6th place and 1st place. These teams come to play every week and it is always fun to see who ends up on top!
