Keyworth Brewing Co. was bursting at the seams this past Thursday night as trivia enthusiasts from all over gathered for two high-energy rounds of PubGuys Trivia. The brewery was packed to capacity, the drinks were flowing, and the vibe was electric. With craft beer in hand and brains switched on, teams dove headfirst into a night of fierce—but friendly—competition.
The energy in the room was palpable as we kicked off Game 1, and it didn’t take long for the crowd to get into the groove. Reigning champs 3 Kobolds in a Trenchcoat set the pace early with solid scores across the board and a strong bonus round, ultimately taking the top spot with 22 points. Hot on their heels were Beer is Life and You're a Winner in My Bock, tied for second place with 17 points each. Both teams showed great consistency, though they couldn't quite match the Kobolds’ bonus-point hustle.
Mid-pack contenders like Rise 5, Full Frontal Nerdity, and a trio of 11-point teams (Rise 12, Bronze Medalers, and Rise 2 - Winners) battled it out in close quarters, making every point count. The trivia terrain was especially treacherous in Game 1, with even veteran teams like Pivot and Overlook Gang finding themselves toward the bottom of the scoreboard. But make no mistake—the laughter, groans, and “aha!” moments echoed throughout the brewery, proving that fun was being had by all, regardless of score.
As the night rolled on and glasses were refilled, the crowd was ready for more. Game 2 picked up right where the first left off—rowdy, raucous, and ridiculously fun.
Once again, 3 Kobolds in a Trenchcoat proved they were the team to beat, claiming victory with an impressive 23-point performance. Their combination of trivia smarts and bonus round success made them the undisputed champions of the evening. Beer is Life held steady in second place again, showing off their trivia chops with another 17-point finish.
A tight cluster of teams battled for third place, with Full Frontal Nerdity, Tequila Mockingbirds, and Rise 5 all tying at 15 points. It was a close race all around, and many of these teams improved upon their Game 1 performances, proving they were adapting as the night went on.
Lower on the board, teams like Rise 4, Pivot, and Bronze Medalers – KW didn’t quite crack double digits, but their enthusiasm never waned. In true PubGuys fashion, every team brought energy and team spirit, regardless of the scoreboard.
With two games of high-stakes trivia in the books, it’s safe to say that Thursday night at Keyworth Brewing Co. was another huge success. The crowd was amazing, the brewery buzzing, and the trivia tough—but the fun? Off the charts.
